ABOUT ME

I am sixth generation Australian of Irish, English and Scottish descent.

Writing has always been a pleasure activity from the early days of a University Double Major in English and teaching Secondary School English.

A Local and Applied History Postgraduate qualification enabled me to take on the responsibility of professionally recording our history.

I have written many books about Australian characters and colonial times and continue to be stimulated delving into the past. My own business,  'People, Places, Publications', took me travelling to complete biographies of people who were seeking help to record their stories.

The social history of a place through its residents was an exciting breakthrough style and both Orange in regional New South Wales and Hunters Hill in Sydney were chosen.

My latest, 'Past Wanders', in 2021, unearthed (both literally and figuratively!) some English ancestors from back to 1600s. With convicts aplenty!

With a husband, three children and ten grandchildren, my life is full.

Creating photobooks of this family - and many other themes - has been another pleasure activity.

My latest creative enjoyment comes from video-making for my You Tube channel: Jaci Grant
